Our monthly meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints*, 400 Swift Street, South Burlington from 10-12.
*The doctrinal views and policies of the church in no way reflect the stance, opinions, or policies of BWI of Greater Burlington or our volunteers. Everyone is welcome no matter what at all times. The space is donated for us to use for free, which is extremely hard to come by. We appreciate being able to use it, and we hope that everyone knows we welcome all. Thank you.
We are a very welcoming group. We are not going to care if you come in using a stroller or carrying your baby in their car seat to a babywearing meeting. We are not going to mind if you are happy with the carrier you already have and just want to come hang out (in fact, we hope you do! We love community.). We also welcome people from all walks of life. Additionally, we encourage you to bring your partner, parents, or any other support person you would like to bring. Big kids are also absolutely welcome (I have a 7 and almost 5 year old that attend)!
These meetings are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in babywearing is welcome to come.
When you arrive, you will park out back and use the back door to enter. When you come inside, take the left to find us in a large room. You can't miss us, promise. You will be greeted by the lovely Dana and sign in.
You will find people in orange and blue headbands. People in orange are your educators. We'll help get you fitted, teach you how to use carriers (whether it is your own or one in the library), and other ways assist you in whatever you might need. The people in blue headbands are the volunteers and educators-in-training. These folks are going to help you check out carriers, sign up to become a member, and the likes.
If you want to borrow from the library, please bring $10. If you would like to become a member, please bring $30. Membership benefits can be found here.
There is a hallway and bathrooms. Feel free to use either or stay in the room to change your baby. You may feed your baby wherever you feel comfortable as well.
We understand that many people are shy and nervous to come out to a meeting for their first time. We hope this helps ease any fears or pressure of the unknown.
